Great post. Personally, I have long abandoned the attitude that younger me had of "I'll try get up to speed with everything I see, learn all things, read a lot of papers and follow a lot of blogs". It is exhausting and it doesn't really give me deep and calm understanding. What I do is, as you say, embrace what comes onto my plate, ask questions, follow those that give me joy and read with a calm mind. In short, favour quality over quantity and accept that in my T there's areas I have the skills to learn and improve but I'm not, nor I want to be, an expert. It's much more about the skils and methods to learn at need and desire than the knowing it all.
